FWD.us Statement on World Refugee Day

WASHINGTON, DC – FWD.us President Todd Schulte released the following statement today on World Refugee Day:

“On World Refugee Day, we remember that The United States has always been made stronger and greater–and pushed closer to the promise of what America can and should be–by welcoming refugees. We have erred in the past, gravely, and again today we see attacks on refugees and the refugee system. This is wrong. It hurts these mothers and friends and sons who have survived violence, persecution and war in their homelands the most — but, ultimately, shutting our doors hurts us all.

“As one refugee who came to America once said, ‘the world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.’ We will not do nothing. We will continue to fight every day for the belief that a nation that values refugees is not only more just, but stronger.”
