WASHINGTON, DC – Today, FWD.us, in partnership with the Protecting Immigrant Families Coalition, launched a new online tool that enables the public to submit comments on the Trump Administration’s proposed changes to the public charge policy, which, if implemented would harm immigrant families and prevent vulnerable individuals from accessing vital basic services, like food assistance and doctors visits. FWD.us President Todd Schulte issued the following statement:

“Today, a 60-day public comment period opens for Americans to voice their opposition to the Trump Administration’s proposed changes to the public charge policy. The changes are a backdoor effort to cut legal immigration levels by making life significantly more difficult for aspiring Americans working to become citizens, and by making it substantially harder for legal immigrants to come here in the future. We’re proud to launch a new online tool with the Protecting Immigrant Families Coalition to make it as easy as possible for people to make their voices heard, and to make clear to the Administration that this policy would devastate American families if implemented.”
