The Trump administration’s recent finalization of changes to the “public charge” policy are, simply put, an attempt to reduce legal immigration by another name. Immigrants built the United States and continue to lift our entire society up. We cannot, we must not, turn our backs on one of our nation’s core values: opportunity for all.
